During the devastating floods that hit Kerala from 15th to 22nd august 2018, our seminary too played an important role. The seminary became the home of one thousand one hundred and fifty peoples who became affected by the floods. The help and support of the people in and around helped us to overcome this crisis. Thoppil parish supported our efforts through serving food twice daily. During the first day’s navy helped us with food and medicines. Later the SUT Thiruvananthapuram, Rajagiri hospital and Aster Medicity helped in paying attention to the medical needs of those residing the seminary.
The priests and seminarians were active during these days. They rendered service to the people day and night. The seminary community heled in rescuing the people who were stuck in the nearby houses. By twenty fourth of august the relief camp in the seminary came to an end. The seminary was actively involved in the post flood relief works too.
