A new chapter of love and compassion was opened on 18th June 2025 with the inauguration of the Social Service and Jesus Fraternity at the Mangalapuzha Seminary campus. The ceremony was inaugurated by Mr. Santosh Joseph, Director of Mariyasadanam Charitable Trust, Palai, who lit the ceremonial lamp. In his inspiring address, he reminded the seminarians that for Christians, social service is not merely a duty, but a deeply spiritual act—an encounter with Christ Himself in those who suffer.
Delivering the presidential address, Very Rev. Fr. Stanley Pulprayil, Rector of the seminary, emphasized that every act of social service is a continuation of the Eucharist. He reflected that works of mercy are not separate from worship but are tangible expressions of the Eucharistic Lord living in and through us.
The programme began with a warm and heartfelt welcome by Br. Bobin Areeplackal, setting a gracious tone for the gathering. Also present were Fr. Augustine Chennattu and Fr. George Mampallil, directors of the Social Service and Jesus Fraternity initiatives, respectively. The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Br. Shone Edackattu.
The initiatives underscores the seminary’s commitment to forming priests rooted in both contemplation and compassionate action.
