IHS 68TH ACADEMY INVITES FOR A RENEWAL IN EVANGELIZATION | 03-12-2025
The 68th Academy of the Institute for Home Studies (IHS) invited seminarians to a renewal in evangelization in the rapidly changing digital era. In his presidential address, Fr. Jaimon Pallineerankal emphasized the need for intellectual, technological, and relational conversion in the age of AI.
The spellbinding violin fusion by the chief guest of the day, Miss Martina Charles—youngest violinist from India and the first from Kerala to complete all eight grades in violin from Trinity College London—who has earned the FTCL fellowship and performed as the youngest member of the South Asian Symphony, inspired seminarians to harness their talents for Christ and His ministry.
The insightful message shared by Br. Cherian Palakunnel urged seminarians to become beacons of hope, especially in a society grappling with despair and depression. The academy, held at the Fr. John Joseph OCD Hall, highlighted IHS’ mission of defending the faith and promoting evangelization since its founding in 1957 by the Servant of God, Rev. Fr. Zacharias OCD.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer song by Br. Shian Mukaleparambil. Br. Alex Kalappura extended a warm welcome, while Br. Scaria Chalakkal presented the annual report of IHS, underscoring the paradigm shift in evangelization through reels, shorts, and podcasts.

V. Rev. Fr. Stanley Pulprayil, the Rector of Mangalapuzha Seminary, released the 2026 Good News Diary, which also serves as a means of evangelization. The memorable academy concluded with the vote of thanks by Br. Albin Thoonganparambil.
The mission of IHS continues by renewing and absorbing the trends of the era, calling seminarians to spread the Gospel using modern means.
