Thanal 2K25 Reignites Mangalapuzha's Family Fire | 06-11-2025
"Thanal," meaning "shadow" in Malayalam, perfectly captured Mangalapuzha Seminary's Home Day celebrations conducted on 5th and 6th of November 2025. Seminarians built an inner spirit through prayer and an outer vibe with tidy setups and festive decorations, revealing the joyful community spirit.
V. Rev. Fr. Stanley Pulprayil, the Rector, spoke from the heart in his first Home Day address after assuming office—making the occasion especially meaningful. He praised everyone's efforts in building family spirit and shared, "Mangalapuzha home is a shadow that God prepared for us to nurture our vocations."
The Home Day gathering at Fr. John Joseph OCD Hall on November 5 truly uplifted the closeness of the Mangalapuzha family. It commenced with a warm welcome by Br. Joseph Karuthedathu, followed by Deacon Jose Kunnappillil's nostalgic experiences in the Mangalapuzha Seminary, which motivated the audience.
The Mangalapuzha Souvenir—showcasing the artistic and creative output from the seminarians—was officially released during the gathering. The melodic music from the seminary choir reminded everyone that the togetherness in Mangalapuzha home is as harmonious as music. Fr. Rector handed out prizes for sports and MSLA contests, honoured the winners, and gave academic awards to deacons who excelled in studies. Br. Mathew Thoompunkal concluded the home gathering with a heartfelt vote of thanks.

Joy spilled into November 6 with a concelebrated Holy Qurbana led by V. Rev. Fr. Stanley Pulprayil, a homily by Fr. Joseph Nellikakandathil, and a noon prayer by Fr. Jaimon Pallineerakal. It invited everyone to thank God for the abundant blessings showered on the Mangalapuzha family. The whole celebrations, including the shared festive lunch with seminarians, staff, and guests, sealed that in the "Thanal" of Mangalapuzha, everybody has a space to experience the joy and love of Christ.
