Mangalapuza, August 4, 2024- The Mangalapuza Seminarycelebrated Vianney Day emphasizing the profound essence of the priesthood as a celebration of silence. The event commenced with the inauguration of the academy by Rev. Fr. Boby Jose Kattikkad, a renowned thinker and author, known for one of his famous works called “Divathinte Sanjari”. Fr. Kattikkad’s philosophical and theological insights provided a deep and enriching perspective, setting a reflective tone for the day. Rev. Fr. Vincent Kundukullam delivered the presidential address, underscoring the notion of priesthood as a prophetic call to silence. He highlighted the necessity of renewing the understanding of priesthood, drawing inspiration from Christ, who began and ended His earthly journey in silence. Fr. Kundukullam's reflections called for a return to the true spirit of priesthood, moving beyond the superficiality and controversies that often surround it. Br. Shils Mattathil delivered the message of the day, and the first-year philosophy students performed music which added a vibrant and communal spirit to the celebration. The event concluded with words of thanks by Br. Jerry Pandalithottathil. This Vianney Day celebration not only honored the essence of priesthood but also inspired all present to embrace its deeper, silent dimensions.
