The Year of St Joseph (08/Dec/2020 – 08/Dec/2021) was concluded remarkably at St Joseph Pontifical Seminary Mangalapuzha. The seminary community was eagerly preparing for this event for the last one year by evoking a special sense of devotion towards St Joseph, and the culmination of this continuous prayer and preparation was embarked by the Symposium conducted on ‘St Joseph’. The symposium was held at Fr. John Joseph OCD Hall on 7th December 2021. His Excellency Mar Joseph Pamplany, the auxiliary Bishop of Arch-Eparchy of Tellichery was the chief guest of the program and delivered the concluding message on St Joseph. He highlighted the very person of St Joseph and his influence in today’s Catholic Church. The main speaker of the day was Prof. Dr. Aniyankunju who presented a paper on the role of St Joseph in the formation of a family. Following the presentation Bro. George Palackamattathil from 2nd year theology made a short response to the paper. The next paper was presented by Rev. Dr. Joseph Nellickakandathil on the evolution of different teachings on St Joseph throughout the history of the Catholic Church. The response was then given by Bro. Mathew Puthuppallimyalil from final year Philosophy- Degree batch. The whole sharing session was moderated by Rev. Dr. Sinto Chittilapally. A cultural program named “Neethiman” was performed by the students from the Philosophy section. The Year of St Joseph came to a close solemnly with the concelebrated Holy Eucharist by His Excellency Mar Joseph Pamplany together with the staff and brothers.
